I love going through photos after a trip, especially when a couple of months have passed since you returned. Looking at photos have always been such a great way for me to re-live memories, reminding you of how you felt in that moment when the photo was taken… What you were thinking, what mood you were in, what you had done that day… It can maybe even make you think of something that was about to happen, but you just didn’t know it yet. It’s like a diary without written words, because as we all know, a picture can speak a thousand of them.
I will get around to posting a few more photos from my California trip soon, but for now I’ll leave you with a traditional tourist shot of the Hollywood sign. I remember that it was our second attempt at getting a good sunset shot of it, having already driven up to the Griffith Observatory the evening before when pretty much all we could see was the L.A. smog. This night however, was thankfully a lot clearer.
I’m leaning more and more towards getting myself a smaller camera with manual settings which is still capable of producing excellent images. Perhaps a Panasonic…
Have you been on any trips lately that you documented with your camera? Do you make the effort to bring your DSLR with you everywhere or do you prefer using a compact?
