It’s been a busy summer with lots of work so it’s a blessing that I love what I do, and that a lot of the time it doesn’t even really feel like work. I’m very grateful that I get to spend my days doing something I truly enjoy, although admittedly it does tend to take up most of my time (standard life of a freelancer). What I haven’t been so good at lately is keeping this website up to date, as I’m currently in the early stages of designing a new one. More about this soon.
So as mentioned in my previous blog post, back in May I went back to Västra Skagene with Antonia, Simon and Harry a few days after our family portrait session to get some romantic couple portraits of the two of them before their wedding/christening (pretty clever to combine the two events if you’ve booked a church for the day anyway!). They loved the previous photos we took at that location so we just thought that we’d keep the same theme for their wedding portraits. Some call Hammarö the archipelago of Värmland and I’d have to agree that it’s a very picturesque place, especially in the summer.
Next we headed over to Hammarö Church for the ceremony and christening, which were both carried out in a very relaxed fashion. The church also lies right next to the lake Vänern so we decided to take the group photographs by the water to tie in with the couple portraits from earlier. After the wedding and christening, we headed into Karlstad for some mingling and champagne toasting at Karolinen’s innegård (a secluded and beautifully landscaped courtyard/garden with blossoming trees and relaxing streams with decorative fountains). Everyone were in great spirit and we were blessed with warm sunshine for the entire day.
I’ve added a (fairly large) selection of photographs from the day below, so please have a look (I’d highly recommend viewing the photos on a computer screen or tablet rather than on your phone). Antonia and Simon – it was lovely to meet you and Harry, and I wish you the best of luck as husband and wife!
